With a dramatic increase in customers turning to Joomla, WordPress, Drupal, etc. we've seen a huge impact on the customer MySQL servers. "mysql55" and "mysql41" in particular were getting overloaded. So in the middle of the night we performed a 5 minute hardware upgrade. Specifically, we doubled the number of CPUs, and we also doubled the amount of RAM. For several of the larger/busier sites we host the improvement was very noticeable.

I am just finishing up a new WordPress plugin that allows real estate agents and offices to integrate live MLS data into their WordPress based web site. Features include:
- Display listing, photo, agent, and office info on your web site, pulled in real time from the MLS servers (with configurable caching).
- Create custom password protected searches for your clients that match their criteria.
- Templates allow you to customize the display of the data in any way possible. Create thumbnail galleries, property lists, detailed property profiles, slideshows, maps of listing locations, etc.
Free Islandnet.com Subdomains

All regular Islandnet.com accounts now have a free .islandnet.com subdomain available to them that can be added to your host manager without incurring any extra host charges.
So for example, if your Islandnet.com username is "mark", then you can use the domain "mark.islandnet.com" just like a regular domain. You can also create any number of .mark.islandnet.com subdomains like "site1.mark.islandnet.com" or "test.mark.islandnet.com"
Why? Well, for some folks who don't want or need their own domain name, it's nicer than using "www.islandnet.com/~USERNAME/" for your web address.
But even for people who have their own domain(s) it can be useful as a temporary address for work in progress, such a client sites.
There is another benefit too... Because we use a wildcard SSL certificate on our web servers, you can use one of these subdomains for your secure pages without requiring your own certificate. Yes, you can do that with a ~USERNAME style address, but that doesn't always work very well when parts of your site depend on NOT having a ~USERNAME in the URL (like rewrite rules, for example).
To use it, simply add USERNAME.islandnet.com (where USERNAME is your Islandnet.com username) to the host manager in the control panel.
